You can create new email addresses in the management of your web hosting package. Here, you decide whether incoming emails should be delivered to a mailbox or forwarded to another email address.

Requirements
To create an email address, you need:
- an active web hosting package
- at least one domain in the customer account
Create an email address in CloudPit
Log in to CloudPit and open the desired web hosting package via Manage.
Open the Emails section on the left and then Email Addresses.
Click on Create email address.
Enter the desired name for the email address and select the appropriate domain.
Then specify how incoming emails should be handled:
- Mailbox: Emails are stored and can be accessed via webmail or an email client.
- Forwarding: Emails are forwarded to an existing email address.
You can also use both options simultaneously.
If you create a mailbox, assign a password for webmail and email clients. You can automatically generate a secure password using the key icon.
Also specify how much storage space the mailbox is allowed to use.
If you set up forwarding, enter the destination address to which emails should be forwarded.
Save the changes. The new email address will then be displayed in the overview.
Create an email address in the Controlpanel
In the Controlpanel, email mailboxes and email addresses are managed separately.
- Email mailbox: Storage location for emails, including mailbox size and spam filter.
- Email address: Address where emails are received, e.g., office@mydomain.com.

Log in to the Controlpanel and open Webhosting (1) → Email Addresses (2).
Click on + Add new email address (3).
Enter the desired name before the @ symbol and select the appropriate domain.
Then specify where emails sent to this address should be delivered:
- to an existing email mailbox
- to an external email address as forwarding
Then click Add email address.
Important notes
An email address can be linked to multiple mailboxes. This way, multiple mailboxes receive the same incoming emails.
Likewise, multiple email addresses can be delivered to the same mailbox. This allows a mailbox to receive emails for multiple addresses.
Example: The address office@mydomain.com is delivered to two mailboxes. Both mailboxes then receive all emails sent to this address.
An email address is only allowed to send via the mailboxes assigned to it. This protects against spoofing, i.e., faking a foreign sender address.
